College of Multimedia
Lehman College of the City University of New York has opened a new 28, 000 sq. ft. Multimedia Center. The facility establishes Lehman as one of the most technologically advanced schools in the CUNY system and puts the College in the forefront of multimedia facilities in the region.
The Multimedia Center at Lehman College is a two-story, state-of-the-art facility that serves both Lehman students and New York City's artistic community. The custom-built center has an acoustically designed recording studio, audio and video production control rooms, eight editing suites — one of which is enhanced for audio sweetening — student news room, media conversion room, graphics room, conference room and 5 'technology-enhanced' classrooms.
Lehman sees the Multimedia Center as a model for multi-use educational facilities; a magnet for dynamic learning and community activity; a gateway for students aspiring to careers in journalism, communications and media production. Graduates of Lehman's multimedia programs will impact the community at local and national levels, enhancing media production in the region and bringing fresh perspectives and a diversity of experience to their fields.
