You’ll get the most extensive collection of sounds enabling you to create fully produced compositions without the need for additional instruments. However, if you can’t get enough, SampleTank’s libraries are fully expandable, and most common sample formats are supported. You can add to your sound library with any “Powered by SampleTank” product like Miroslav Philharmonik, SampleTron, SampleMoog and Sonik Synth 2, plus you can add any ReTank refill, or simply record your own.

SampleTank is the only sample workstation that sports 3 different type of sample-engines: traditional resampling, STRETCH™ and PS/TS, which allow you to manipulate sounds and samples in every imaginable way. The unique STRETCH™ engine delivers amazing realism and expression over multi-sampled instruments. Your performances will come to life with true glide, bending, full control over staccato and vibrato, with an incredibly rich, vibrant, and natural sound quality (say good bye to the “chip-munk” effect). When working with loops, the PSTS engine (Pitch-shift/Time-stretch) allows you to synchronize loops with one click, or control its tempo and pitch independently for the ultimate beat machine.

The PS/TS (Pitch-Shift/Time-Stretch) Engine

PS/TS has been designed to work with polyphonic material, such as ensemble instruments phrases, or percussive sounds such as drum loops and percussion grooves. With PS/TS, tempo and pitch can be controlled independently ensuring the best possible quality for this type of material and the most flexible manipulation possibilities. Plus, multiple loops with different tempos can be easily synced together with one click or synced to the host's tempo and remain true to their original feel and meaning.

The STRETCH™ Engine

STRETCH (Sampletank Time REsynthesis TeCHnology) has been designed for monophonic material (such as vocal, brass, winds, etc…), and provides full control over the tempo and tune of the samples. It gives any sample an incredibly rich, vibrant, and natural quality. STRETCH also expands your sonic manipulation capabilities by providing full-control of an instrument's basic spectrum distribution to tailor its tonal characteristics. You’ll seriously have to experience this on your own… words can’t begin to describe the euphoria. You see, most natural instruments loose their realism when played by a sampler, and you can immediately hear it. But the false sounding glide and bending in many traditional samples have been eliminated by STRETCH which delivers a new standard of musical realism, making virtual instruments more natural sounding than ever imagined (no more “chip-munk” effect). STRETCH gives more control over vital sound characteristics, delivers more realism than any other sample-based virtual instruments, and offers more tools to unleash creativity.

Effects – The Key to Your Studio Sound

No other sample player engine gives you the power and flexibility that SampleTank offers in the effects section. This is where you take ordinary “sampled” sounds and make them truly your own. With its 33 built-in DSP effects, you’ll be amazed at the level of realism you can achieve. Apply up to 5 effects per part, plus you get 5 send effects and 5 overall Master Effects.
